Walking Therapy
Walking therapy offers an alternative to working together in a consulting room. Sessions take place outdoors, combining psychotherapeutic work with walking in a natural setting.
For some, being alongside one another in movement can allow thoughts and feelings to emerge more freely, and may feel less containing than a traditional seated setting. The pace and rhythm of walking can also support reflection and the processing of difficult or complex material.
As with my other work, the emphasis remains on the therapeutic relationship and on understanding the patterns that shape your experience. The outdoor setting becomes part of the process, rather than a distraction from it.
Walking therapy is not suited to everyone, but may be particularly helpful if you find the idea of sitting in a room restrictive, or if you are drawn to working in a more embodied and open environment.
Sessions take place in central London locations, including the squares of Bloomsbury and nearby parks. Specific arrangements are discussed and agreed in advance.
