My name is Stephanie Gerra. I have over 25 years’ experience as a psychotherapist, working with individuals, couples and therapists in training. My practice is now primarily private and focused on longer-term, in-depth work.

'The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are.'
Carl Jung

I am a senior psychotherapist and supervisor based in Bloomsbury, London, with over 25 years’ clinical experience. I offer longer-term, depth-oriented psychotherapy for individuals and couples, working with people who are ready to look more closely at the patterns shaping their lives and relationships.

People come to therapy at different points in their lives. Sometimes this follows a significant event—such as bereavement, the end of a relationship, or a change in direction. At other times, there may be a quieter but persistent sense that something is not quite right: a feeling of being adrift, disconnected, or no longer able to find meaning or vitality in life.

Often, there are patterns in relationships or ways of being that have been in place for a long time, and which no longer feel sustainable. You may find yourself repeating something you do not fully understand, or feeling caught between who you have been and who you are becoming.

Psychotherapy offers a space to explore these experiences in depth, to make sense of what may feel confusing or overwhelming, and to begin to loosen the hold of patterns that no longer serve. Over time, this can allow for a different way of relating—to yourself, to others, and to life more broadly.

I work with clients in London, across the UK and internationally, and have experience working with therapists in training and with groups.I work with a range of clients and have particular experience supporting people through periods of transition, questions of identity, and the impact of complex personal histories.

I offer a thoughtful and containing space in which periods of crisis or stuckness can be understood and worked through over time, allowing for a greater sense of agency, coherence and fulfilment.

I am UKCP accredited and a registered member of the BACP. My training includes an MA in Psychosynthesis Psychotherapy and a Diploma in Psychodynamic Supervision. Alongside my clinical practice, I supervise counsellors and psychotherapists at various stages of their development.

I offer sessions in Bloomsbury and across central London, as well as online. I also offer Walking Therapy for those who are drawn to working in a natural setting.

In addition to English, I speak Italian, French and Spanish, and am able to draw on these where helpful. Sessions are, however, conducted primarily in English.
